Mick Hart was an incredibly talented musician who sadly died last week

Hi all, 

I often forget it is Father's Day next Sunday as my father passed away many years ago,  my grandfather used to get that attention, but he is gone now too. So as it is my mother's birthday, she has taken over, in what our local primary school calls 'Grandma Day'. Genius on their part as my daughter gets to participate in the gift stall and present making activities, not feeling left out.

I think we should acknowledge the support of all caregivers every day, not just one day a year. Having said this, good male role models abound in my life and community - people who remind me to oil the chain on my bike, top up the oil in my car, deliver firewood, put up a netball ring etc. either because I might not have the tools, the time or someone to have taught me how to do these things.

So instead of us just acknowledging Dad's, maybe send a gift to someone you think deserves an out of the blue surprise!  Anyone who is there, to help you when you need it.
