Heartbreaker - Led Zepplin (1969)

July 3, 2020

I love Led Zepplin, this album is a crackerand this song in particular seems appropriate this week.  I can’t believe that we are literally giving wine away with our BOGOF (buy one get one free) deal till July 10th.  Equally heartbreaking is the delayed reopening of the borders to Victoria.  In Coonawarra we are right on the Victorian border, all of us have family and friends in Victoria we are keen to see, so fingers crossed we can do that soon.

In the meantime South Australians have been enjoying our isolation, we are extremely lucky in our part of the world and are so fortunate to be open again, but as you can imagine our cellar door visitation is usually up to 60% from Victoria so we can’t wait to see them return.  We also really value our trade to the wonderful restaurants of Melbourne and rural Victoria.
So a big shout out to our Vic mates - we miss you and love you.

Only 7 days to go in our BOGOF sale - where if you buy one case you get one free.   This is a great opportunity for anyone with a wedding on the horizon or significant birthday bash - two dozen will go a long way, you can impress your friends with boutique premium wine that is normally $30/bottle.

...and if you want to share the love you are welcome to collaborate with friends, we are happy to send the 2nd case to a different address....PLUS get that friend to sign up to our newsletter/join our flock (and mention you in the referral) and we'll pop you into the draw for our 'Be a winemaker for a week' competition worth over $2200 - ends July 31st.

For those of you unfamiliar with Bianco d’Alessano don’t feel bad, this wine is from the only block in Australia near Loxton.  Grown by Sherwood Estate (Brett Proud). It originated as a variety from Puglia, the heel in the bottom of the Italian boot.  Famous for food, beaches and warm dry weather - Bianco is very heat tolerant and drought resistant with distinctive skin tannins.  So it is a white that grows in the desert ripening very slowly, the tannins are much more like a red so we ferment it on skins for at least 10 days to soften them.  The resulting wine is only 10.5% Alc so you can enjoy a second glass.  Low alcohol drinks are often seen as wussy or lacking - but this wine blows that theory out of the water.  So it is a healthier wine for you and the planet.
